Finally managed to get out for a ride on the last day I was in Austin for SXSW. I made sure I hydrated well the night before. It was cold and windy so I was ready to just head to the bike shop to return the Serotta I had rented. As I was approaching I saw three locals in the parking lot about to get ready to ride so I asked them if I could tag along. It didn’t take long for them to lose me, but I managed to catch up, and stuck it out for the full 2+ ...

A quick bike ride (with repairs required, of course) and a quick run, just to keep the legs moving.

Set out for a quick ride in Lake Placid (70km) as part of our last training weekend before IronMan. It poured rain from the moment I left until I finished, and it certainly was an eventful ride. I got my first flat tire!! Had to change it without having done it before but I think I have the hang of it now. It took two attempts to inflate the tire because on the first one, the tire bead wasn’t hooked properly on the rim near the valve stem. It took me about 10 minutes to figure out how to solve…
